New built Extension, 2021- Completed
Lighting design for all interior and exterior visitor areas. The project came to expand “River West” shopping centre after its first inauguration ten years ago, introducing a new commercial complex with retail, F&B, recreational and outdoor facilities. Flowers, trees and shrubs grow on the pebbled banks while water flows in different formations creating a multisensorial experience. Plazas, amphitheaters, and leisure areas plus a large playground enrich the development creating a very pleasing consumer experience. The development is open to the public, turning the retail park into a very popular destination.

The lighting approach is based on a cohesive masterplan that composes of layers of light that vary in terms of colour temperature, intensity, direction and type. This layering applies to the spatial context in response to circulation, wayfinding, character, texture, legibility, boundaries and brilliance, responding aesthetically and functionally to the architectural and landscape forms.
Lighting controls set the lighting in various scenes adapting to the variable external lighting conditions resulting in a pleasing environment by day and by night throughout the year.
